A Science Project You Can Eat

Geometry... molecules.... pretzels and marshmallows...  oh my!

My kiddos had fun for hours with this super easy, not-too-messy, very affordable science craft you can eat!  They practiced their shapes, creativity, and writing, brushed up on teamwork, and they had very much fun doing it.  Maybe just as great as Lincoln Logs, and much cheaper.  ;-)  As my daughter said, "This is crazy cool!"  I must say, Science class at our house is soooo much funner than I ever had in elementary school.  I love it!

Print out this idea sheet to give your kiddos some inspiration while they work:

  1. We usually build a pretzel & mini mellow "church" at least once a year in my cubbies class. Nothing like snack & craft at the same time!

  2. We made DNA strands at a science fair with red vines and gum drops. It was so much fun!

  4. oh i think that's an awesome idea! i'll have to give out a limited supply of marshmallows, though. because i'm sure they'll disappear too quickly if there are too many on the table.

    1. haha! Yes, they do disappear rather quickly. I made sure to do it after lunch so they already had kind of full tummies. :)
