A Mineral Hygienics Review & How to Make Your Lovely Face More Lovely by Contouring Your Makeup

Mineral Hygienics blush.
About a month ago, I took my mom for a makeover as a birthday gift.  We had such a blast learning new makeup techniques!  I especially loved how the makeup artist contoured my makeup, changing the entire look of my face.  If you're like I was, I really had no idea what it meant to "contour".  But now I'm not so ignorant!

You see, in contouring, facial features are viewed as a combination of light and shadows. By applying a dark tone, you create a false shadow, making it appear as if there is depth. The opposite is true for lighter tones; they act as highlights and trick the eye into thinking they stand out.

A Quick How-to
I used Mineral Hygienics blush for a contoured look. I used their Angled Blush Brush to sweep the darkest color--the Cool Kiss Mineral Bronzer--in one stroke beginning at the natural hollow on my cheeks and swept it upwards and outwards toward my hairline.  I dusted the Sweet Pea blush on the apples of my cheeks, and put the Radiant Mineral Enhancer above that as a highlighter.  I use this makeup pretty much everyday and love the look it creates whether I'm going out for dinner or going for a walk with my family.  (For more on coutouring, simply Google "how to contour makeup".  There are tons of tutorials and Youtube videos to give you exactly the look you want!

My hubby caught me on camera unawares, but this is what my daily-wear Mineral Hygienics looks like.  I'd say it's pretty flawless for an everyday look. Isn't it great when you like the way you look in a photo you didn't even realize was being taken?!

MineralHygienics.comIf you've never tried Mineral Hygienics, and especially if you've never tried mineral makeup, you need to try it!  There's nothing to lose because they actually have a 100% 45-day money back guarantee on their starter kits which include 2 shades of foundation, finishing powder, a kabuki brush, mineral enhancer, a concealer brush, a mineral brush, and a detailed how-to guide.  And they're offering... just for my readers a

Nature's Gate Glow Lotion #Giveaway: Perfect for a Natural, Summer Tan or Mother's Day Gifts!

I've been a huge fan of Nature's Gate bath and body products since I first discovered them about a year ago.  Last time, I reviewed their Grapefruit & Wild Ginger Shampoo.  When I breathed in the scent, I couldn't wait to hit the shower! And when I pumped the A├žai Berry Moisturizing Lotion into my hands, I couldn't stop smelling them for the rest of the day. The products are natural, smell amazing, and leave your hair or skin so incredibly soft.

This time, I had the chance to try their new Glow Lotion.  It's a body cream that not only moisturizes your skin, but gives you a bit more "glow" (or tan) each time you use it.  The tan looks natural, and it is perfectly even (the previous products I tried from Clinique and Avon gave me streaks which was not pretty!)  The Glow Lotion smells like summer, too--a hint of cocoa butter.  I really love it and I'm so excited that I get to pick three winners for this one!

As amazing as their products are, the best thing about Nature's Gate is that they help poor communities in Africa and Asia to acquire safe, clean water. If you follow my blog or have seen my most recent homepage post, you'll know I have a heart for Africa, too.  My children and I volunteer with Into-Africa which also brings clean water to Africa.  It's easy to get excited about writing a review for a company like this!

The scent of their products is what gets you hooked initially, but Nature's Gate leaves your hair or your skin, whichever the case may be, feeling so soft & refreshed.  Besides everything else, they're natural... free of Parabens, Phthalates, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and all that other junk that I'd rather not use.

GIVEAWAY
Enter below by May 10th at 11 pm anyone's time.  I'll choose a winner the next morning via Random.org.
